Macromedia, Inc., announced the availability of its Shockwave™ for ActiveX™ control as part of all retail versions of the Internet Explorer™ Starter Kit 3.0. The Internet Explorer Starter Kit is included at no extra cost to any consumer who purchases Windows® 95.

Shockwave enables developers to create dynamic interactive multimedia and graphics for the World Wide Web, including streaming hi-fi to CD-quality audio. Because it's an ActiveX control, Shockwave has been optimized for output across Microsoft's ActiveX enabled products, making applications and Web sites more interactive and engaging.

Shockwave is the standard for viewing dynamic multimedia on the Web. With its inclusion in Windows 95 and Internet Explorer Starter Kit, Web users can now instantly visit shocked sites such as Warner Bros. Records, Capitol Records, CNN, Paramount's "Escape From LA", Virgin Interactive, People Magazine, the Discovery Channel Online and Sportsline USA.

The Internet Explorer Starter Kit and Windows 95 with the Shockwave ActiveX control will be available in stores beginning today. The estimated retail price of the Internet Explorer Starter Kit is $24.95.
