DataViz announced today enhancements to its Internet utility package, Web Buddy. These enhancements incorporate IomegaReady Software technology, so users can save web content that was retrieved by Web Buddy easily to Iomega Zip or Jaz disks. The Iomega technology has been seamlessly integrated into the off-line browsing portion of Web Buddy. Now users do not have to worry about disk space and can use the technology to archive favorite web pages, save sites into an electronic "web scrapbook" or make the web portable for future use.

Take the Web "To Go" with DataViz and Iomega DataViz and Iomega are teaming together to encourage users to step off the Net and reap the many benefits of off-line browsing such as, reduction of connection time, improved speed and control and increased productivity while viewing web content. Using the "Page To Go" and "Site To Go" utilities in the Web Buddy program, users can take selected pages and entire sites from the web down to their hard drive, Zip or Jaz disks and view them later. The pages look exactly the way they did online.

Iomega has chosen Web Buddy to represent off-line browsers in a special software bundle that they are currently offering in their "Net Stuff" rebate program. "Their 10 year industry reputation of high-quality software products lends a lot of credibility to our IomegaReady Software program."

Two other award-winning Dataviz products, Conversions Plus and MacOpener, are already popular among Iomega customers. Automate Information Collection Web Buddy can also be scheduled to take pages from the web anytime. Web Buddy "surfs" the web for users while they are busy doing other things (including sleeping.) Users can, for example, have Web Buddy retrieve pages from high traffic web sites during off-peak hours which can be a tremendous savings in time and money.

Reuse Web Pages and Graphics Drawing on DataViz's heritage of file conversion products, Web Buddy's "Convert" utility allows users to convert a web page or graphic and use it in popular word processing and graphics programs. Virtually all formatting features are retained in the resulting file, including graphics, tables and character styles. Hot links (URLs) can be included in the resulting files as footnotes which can be referenced for later visits.

Bookmarking, too Web Buddy also serves as a world class bookmarking utility. Its toolbar access from the browser makes it easy to add and retrieve bookmarks into customized categories "on the fly." This provides much greater flexibility than the built-in bookmarking schemes available in today's web browsers.
