Component Integration Laboratories (CI Labs), a nonprofit industry association which adopts, licenses, registers and validates multi-platform, distributed component software, today delivered the Live Objects (TM) Component Model Developer Roadmap, which describes the integration of Java Beans and OpenDoc/CORBA, the two leading distributed component technologies. The integration of Java Beans and OpenDoc/CORBA allows developers to create full-featured, platform independent applications using industry standard based components. The Live Objects Component Model Developer Roadmap is available from the CI Labs website.
"In a quickly changing environment, success is dependent upon making the right technology choices, the distributed component marketplace is no exception," said Frank Mara, president of CI Labs. "We feel the Live Objects Component Model brings together the best features of Java and OpenDoc." Java's strong platform independent capabilities are augmented by OpenDoc/CORBA's task-oriented, data-centric features."
Presently, CI Labs membership has grown to more than 2,000 members including companies and associations such as: Adobe, Apple, IBM, Justsystem, Novell, the Object Management Group(OMG), Oracle and many others. CI Labs, the Forum for Distributed Component Software Leaders, offers membership ($350 yearly dues) to all those interested in distributed component software.
