Lotus Domino Web Developers Conference November 6 - 7

The Domino Web Developers Conference is being held to recruit and enable experienced web developers on Lotus Domino technology. Through three tracks and over 30 breakout sessions, developers will have the opportunity to fully appreciate the value Lotus Domino brings to web site and web interactive application development.

The conference is open to all web developers - web site developers, Internet and intranet application developers, and corporate developers as well as Internet Service Providers who are looking to add value to their service offerings through site and application development. The conference will particularly target web developers who haven't previously used Lotus technologies.

Registration is open to the public, and attendees need not be a Lotus Business Partner or customer to attend. The target attendance is 1,500 and the facilities can accommodate up to 2,000.

The conference will feature three tracks: Fast Track for New Domino Developers, Advanced Topics for Experienced Domino Developers and Domino Case Studies and Competitive Concepts. There will be 3 keynote sessions, over 30 breakout sessions, 2 hands-on labs, a Domino product showcase and, of course, entertainment. Currently, the keynotes are Jeff Papows, COO, Lotus Development Corp. and Eric Schmidt, CTO, Sun Microsystems.

One of the labs consists of a hands-on learning lab, run by Lotus Education designed to help fast-track a new Domino developer through Domino's application and development features. The second lab will be a place to congregate, commiserate and communicate in a "Friends" meets "CyberSmith" style, featuring Internet browsing (highlighting the conference web site!) in a cross-platform environment. Also featured will be 20-30 Lotus Business Partners demonstrating Domino applications on pedestals in and around the breakout rooms.

In addition, a web-cast is planned in an Mbone format. This means that if you have potential partners and/or customers who just can't be there, they will be able to view a portion of the conference on-line. This type of broadcast is a first for Lotus. The viewing details will be posted to our web site closer to the conference start date.
