Symantec Corporation announced the release of Norton Utilities 2.0 for Windows 95. The new version solves software conflicts, prevents Windows problems, retrieves and stops lost files, PC crashes, screen freezes and more. No announcement for a Mac version of the updated software has been announced for the Mac platform
Norton Utilities 2.0 allows users to customize Windows 95 features and learn about the way their computer works.
Norton Utilities 2.0 for Windows 95 is designed for a wide range of users, from the average user to the computer professional, to the hobbyist and the technically advanced power user.
"With version 2.0, Norton Utilities for Windows 95 continues to provide incomparable utilities that make using a PC more enjoyable, and ultimately, more productive," said Enrique Salem, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Symantec Corporation. "And now, with CrashGuard and Anti-Freeze protecting against crashes and application lock-ups, the user has all the necessary PC protection."
The new Norton for Windows 95 also includes CrashGuard with Anti-Freeze is the best way to protect the user from losing data as a result of system "crashes" or "freezes". If the user ever experiences a crash or an application freeze, CrashGuard will jump in, fix the problem, let the user continue and save the work.
Norton Utilities 2.0 for Windows 95, with CrashGuard and Anti-Freeze, is available at an estimated retail price (ERP) of $79. A trade up is available for $49 to registered users of Norton Utilities. Norton Utilities 2.0 requires an IBM-PC or 100% compatible PC, Windows 95.
