PCPI Names Apple Computer Exec SVP of Engineering

Personal Computer Products Inc. announced the addition of Thomas Mager as its new senior vice president of engineering.

Mager's most recent position has been senior director, Imaging Engineering and co-acting general manager of the Imaging Division at Apple Computer Inc. He has been a key member of Apple's printer engineering management team since October 1989, with experience in all imaging products, including color and monochrome printers.

Dr. Edward Savarese, president and chief executive officer of PCPI, introduced Mager at the PCPI annual stockholder meeting in Rancho Bernardo, Calif. "We have been seeking a highly qualified senior engineering vice president. Tom Mager has the qualifications and industry experience we need to accelerate PCPI's growth as a leading Adobe PostScript Developer.

"His knowledge of printing technologies, imaging, and network printing makes him the ideal choice for us. Mr. Mager is currently responsible for engineering and development of all Apple Imaging products, and manages a team of over 200 engineers. This is the kind of engineering management talent PCPI requires to meet our strategic plans." Savarese emphasized the importance of Mager's printing, imaging and network printing experience.

Mager will assume his new responsibilities as senior vice president of engineering the first week of October. Mager commented, "I'm excited about the opportunity to work with Dr. Savarese and to be an integral part of the PCPI management team. PCPI is well-positioned to grow and to be a key technology provider to the printer industry."
