PrintPaks Inc. announced today that their two latest multimedia craft CD-ROM titles for children will ship later this month.
With the new Holiday Ornaments Kit and Calendar Kit families can use a multimedia PC and a color printer to create, print and assemble a host of high quality gifts for holiday giving. Both products are suitable for the entire family but are designed so an eight-year-old could complete the project without adult assistance. The kits retail for less than $20 with craft material retail packs available for$9.95.
"With PrintPaks, kids can have fun personalizing their ornaments and calendars with artwork, photos and text to make unique, colorful gifts that families and friends can enjoy long after the holidays are over," said Judy MacDonald, president and co-founder of the company. "Our craft kits are designed to help kids develop a real sense of pride and achievement by creating and completing very high quality work."
All PrintPaks(tm) multimedia craft kits combine animated computer design and color printing with traditional, hands-on craft-making. Each PrintPaks product comes with a CD-ROM (compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems) that includes the project design software and the PrintPaks' Unique Art Library featuring a large selection of vibrant artwork created especially for the kit.
PrintPaks' spunky animated dog, Max, narrates the simple step-by-step instructions for creating, printing and assembling the crafts. And, every PrintPaks kit comes with all the supplies needed to create and complete a high-quality craft project.
PrintPaks' New Holiday Products
With the PrintPaks Holiday Ornaments Kit, kids can make 18 decorative ornaments. The kit includes red and gold frames, matching cord and specially coated paper to create personalized holiday decorations to display at home and give as gifts.
The PrintPaks Calendar Kit includes colorful covers, high-quality paper and spiral bindings, enough to create two 12-month calendars. Every month of the calendar can be customized with text, photos, stamps and artwork. Kids can highlight special dates throughout the year, such as family birthdays and anniversaries. The calendar can start with any month in any year (through 2100) so the kit can be used year after year; the kit can also be used to create special calendars for the school year or summer vacation.
Shortly after PrintPaks was founded last year, the company introduced holiday kits similar to the two products announced today to test the market for multimedia craft kits. "Due to popular demand for the test products, we've made the PrintPaks Holiday Ornaments and Calendar Kits part of our current line," explained MacDonald. "The new versions reflect significant enhancements we have made to the software, including new creativity tools to give kids even more options for personalizing their creations."
The new PrintPaks creativity tools include a paint brush for freehand drawing, a paint bucket to fill areas with colors and patterns, a pencil tool for line drawing, and a stamp tool to add graphics on top of photos and other images.
PrintPaks kits give the user the option to import personal photos as well. "Using photos with a multimedia PC is an important trend this fall," said MacDonald. "We've designed PrintPaks to make it easy to put your own photos into the crafts projects." A Photo-to-CD Transfer offer from In.Digit is included with each kit to help digitize personal photos.
PrintPaks multimedia craft kits are available in the United States and Canada in retail outlets that carry computer software, toys, learning activities and craft supplies.
