Submit It!, Inc. today announced Submit It! Gold and Submit It! Pro, commercial versions of Submit It!, ag service for submitting Web site listings to Internet catalogs and search engines, including Yahoo!, Alta Vista and Infoseek.
The Submit It! service is reportedly the most popular submission service on the Internet and receives over 200,000 visitors per month.
Submit It! is designed to allow companies and individuals to easily, quickly and accurately promote and market their Web sites over the Internet. Users can submit, track, report and update their Web site listings to an extensive list of catalogs that have been reviewed and categorized by Submit It! researchers.
Three versions of Submit It! are currently available:
1) The free version supports 18 catalogs for companies starting their Web site promotion campaign;
2) Submit It! Gold supports more catalogs, functionality and management features for companies that want to aggressively promote their Web sites;
3) Submit It! Pro which is optimized for service companies, such as Web site developers and public relations agencies that design and execute Web site publicity programs for their clients.
"Submit It! has become recognized as one of the leading `brands' for Internet directory submission services," said Jerry Yang, Chief Yahoo! and Cofounder, Yahoo! Inc. "We wish the new team and company success in moving ahead in the Web site marketing space."
The first version of Submit It!, developed in February 1995 by University of Illinois student Scott Banister, quickly became the de facto standard for Web site promotion services. The service met an exploding need for users to easily publicize their Web sites and provided catalogs with a popular channel for receiving new listings. The new Submit It! versions are based on commercial services of OnPro Development Corp., a Massachusetts company formed in 1995 to develop Web-site promotion software. The new company, Submit It!, Inc., was formed in June from the merger of the Submit It! brand with OnPro's technology.
