Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop, the powerful Web page maker designed specifically for the school environment is now shipping for Macintosh and Windows computers in both CD-ROM and disk formats.
Because there's no need to learn HTML or other programming languages, Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop is the perfect tool for beginners. More experienced teachers and students will enjoy the program's open-ended design. The program includes an unbelievably easy-to-use interface plus all the backgrounds, clip art, and paint tools necessary for students to create home pages.
Teachers will appreciate the ease with which Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop allows them to incorporate Web sites into daily lesson plans. Over 40 educationally-appropriate Web sites are ready for an instant link to home pages. Adding other sites is a breeze. The program's Teacher's Guide comes complete with a dynamic collection of Web activities for the classroom.
To help schools which do not yet have a Web server, Sunburst will post student and teacher Web pages free for three months on Sunburst's Web site. For a small charge, schools may remain on the Sunburst site for an even longer period of time.
One more special feature of Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop is its ability to create an "Intranet." Schools that do not have access to the Internet in their school can still share their Web pages with one another by linking all their pages and viewing them with Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
Sunburst will soon roll out the first of a series of Curriculum Web Packs designed to save teachers hours of searching and lesson preparation. Each Web Pack will focus on a particular curriculum area -- such as the rain forest, astronomy, oceans, and ancient civilization -- with lesson plans linked to 50 Web sites. Web Pack art can be incorporated in home pages created with Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop.
The CD-ROM format of Sunburst's School Version of Web Workshop includes EarthLink Network's Internet Total Access software with Netscape Navigator 2.0 and Surfwatch. A Teacher's Guide is included with both the CD-ROM and disk formats. Single copies are priced at $89.95 for the CD-ROM and $79.95 on disk. Lab packs, site licenses and district licenses are also available.
Web Workshop was developed by the Vividus Corporation.
