Symantec Corporation last week received the ``Best Vendor'' Award at VarVision Fall '96 event which was held in Phoenix, Arizona. The award was presented at the VarVision Awards Dinner on October 22, 1996. VarVision is a semi-annual meeting of presidents and key executives from the Value Added Reseller (VAR) and Systems Integrator (SI) community, and the award is selected solely by votes from these senior reseller executives in the industry. Vendors such as Symantec come to these meetings to build strong, strategic relationships with these primary decision makers. Only two awards were given out at the meeting, Best Vendor and Best Product. Symantec was chosen by balloting from among several nominees including notable VAR/SI channel supporters such as AMD, Mustang Software and U.S. Robotics.
The key factors that helped Symantec win this award were the presentation of the following Symantec Solutions:
- Remote Server Management preview edition
- Norton Administrator Suite Return-On-Investment Advisor
- Planning and Budgeting Workbench
``Winning this prestigious award for the second straight year, competing with such seasoned and top-quality vendors, is a real honor for Symantec,'' said John Bruce, director of worldwide alternate channel sales. ``This award recognizes the energy the professionals in our organization have committed to raising the bar over last year's performance by bringing out a host of new and innovative solutions for VARs and Systems Integrators.''
``Symantec has achieved the unprecedented by winning the Best Vendor award for the second year in a row,'' said Peter Eisenhauer, president of VarVision. ``This award recognizes that Symantec has successfully demonstrated ongoing commitment to the reseller/integrator channel during the past year with new solutions, technologies and expanded reseller-oriented programs.''
