Truevision today announced it is shipping its award-winning BRAVADO 1000 for Power Macintosh, the first professional non-linear editing solution for less than $900.

BRAVADO 1000 is the only product in its price class that comes complete with the full-version of Adobe Premiere 4.2 (retail value $795). BRAVADO 1000 is an Apple QuickTime native video capture, editing and playback system designed for corporate communications and multimedia professionals. BRAVADO 1000 delivers a powerful non-linear editing solution capable of creating professional quality video output straight from the desktop.

The product has a street price of approximately $899 (after manufacturer's mail-in rebate) and is available now through Truevision resellers. The BRAVADO 1000 is the first capture card for the Macintosh to incorporate the new open M-JPEG format A compression technology included in QuickTime 2.5. The new Apple software codec makes the BRAVADO 1000 an ideal solution for distributing video across a corporate intranet. Users can capture video using the BRAVADO 1000, post it to a corporate intranet, and network users can share video clips as well as create and edit new movies from the same footage using Adobe Premiere. "The BRAVADO 1000 for the Macintosh is the first video capture and playback card below $900 to take advantage of the new QuickTime 2.5 functionality," said Louis Doctor, president and CEO of Truevision. "The BRAVADO 1000 is a complete out-of-the-box video solution with unparalleled value that makes authoring, sharing and distributing professional quality video content a reality." The BRAVADO 1000 captures and outputs full-scree

The BRAVADO 1000's bus mastering architecture allows for superior image quality, fast processing of transitions and accurate audio/video synchronization by minimizing the time it takes to move high-quality video data across the PCI-bus. Its open-system architecture ensures compatibility with QuickTime applications such as animation, compositing, photo-retouching and illustration packages.
