Symantec has made Visual CafE Preview Release 1 for Macintosh available for download. We value your input to help us provide you with the best visual rapid application development tools for Java. We are very interested in your feedback in terms of the user interface of Visual CafE, as well as the base feature set. Please send any bug reports. Visual CafE Preview Release 1 includes:

RAD Visual Tools designed exclusively for the Java programming language, allowing the easy creation of Java applets and applications using drag and drop of visual elements on the screen; A WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) Java form designer which allows you to see Java applets as you build them, including live support for Java layout managers; Interaction Expert which allows users to easily specify interactions between visual elements using drag and drop; A full-featured project management environment; A fully featured integrated graphical debugger, including data browsing, call stack and thread monitoring capabilities

Please note that Visual CafE PR1 does not yet include the component library, this will be available in the final release.

As with all pre-release software, please be careful when using Visual CafE PR1, as it's not yet ready for day to day use. For production development, please continue using Cafe DR 2.01.
