Xircom Inc. announced that Del Yocam, a driving force in the direction and development of the personal-computer industry and former president and chief operating officer of Tektronix Inc., has been named to Xircom's board of directors.

``Throughout his technology career, Del has demonstrated a strong ability to capture market opportunities by delivering a constant stream of new products, a quality that Xircom values very highly,'' said Dirk Gates, Xircom chairman, president and chief executive officer. ``His strong product development and solid operations experience will be an asset to Xircom's board.''

Yocam currently is a director of several leading technology companies, including Adobe Systems Inc., Castelle Inc., Integrated Measurement Systems Inc., Oracle Corp., Sapiens International Corp. and numerous privately held technology companies. From 1992 until 1994, he held the position of president, chief operating officer and director of Tektronix, where he was responsible for delivering on company direction and instilling operating disciplines and controls that would ensure sustainable improvements in operating performance. Prior to joining Tektronix, Yocam spent 10 years at Apple Computer, where he held a number of executive positions, including executive vice president and chief operating officer, executive vice president of product operations, executive vice president and general manager of the Apple II group, and vice president of manufacturing. During his tenure as executive vice president and chief operating officer from 1986 to 1988, he increased operating income more than sixfold.
